DongHo Cho × Dong-eun Choi
Studio EAST×EAST is an Art & Design Creative Studio founded by DongHo Cho and Dong-eun Choi. Sharing a foundation in sculpture, we began collaborating through our mutual interest in woodworking. Officially established in Seoul in 2022, our creative journey expanded internationally following our relocation to London in 2023.
At the heart of our practice lies an exploration of the profound relationship between space and humanity. We reinterpret the essence of space as the physical and emotional framework of human life, expressing our vision through a diverse array of mediums, including sculpture, video, installation, furniture, and objects. By weaving artistry into the fabric of spatial experiences, we strive to challenge conventions and offer new perspectives that enrich and elevate everyday life.
One of our key focuses is FURNITURAL ART, referring to sculptures that embody furniture-like elements. By creating pieces that invite tactile engagement and human interaction, we aim to redefine how people experience and connect with their surroundings in meaningful, transformative ways.
Studio EAST×EAST remains devoted to pushing the boundaries of contemporary art and design, forging bold and innovative projects that inspire fresh dialogues between humans and the spaces they inhabit.
스튜디오 이스트이스트는 한국인 아티스트 듀오인 조동호와 최동은이 설립한 아트 & 디자인 스튜디오입니다.
조각을 기반으로 한 공통의 배경과 목공에 대한 관심에서 2022년 협업을 시작하였으며, 2023년에는 런던으로 거점을 옮겨 국제적인 활동으로 영역을 확장했습니다.
스튜디오는 가구적 요소를 가진 예술 조각을 뜻하는 ‘퍼니처럴 아트(가구적 조각)’를 주요 작업 분야로 삼아, 감각적 경험과 공간과의 관계를 새롭게 탐구합니다.
스튜디오 이스트이스트는 동시대 미술과 디자인의 경계를 확장하며, 인간과 공간 사이에 새로운 대화를 제안하는 프로젝트를 이어가고 있습니다.
